Video standards

Using UW–Madison’s visual identity in video is an effective way to leverage your unit’s connection to the power of the UW–Madison brand. Depending on the length, content, and intended audience for your video, there are several ways to integrate the UW–Madison brand into a video presentation. Options include:

  • Using the full logo (static or animated) during an intro or closing shot
  • Using a crest-only mark for the duration of the piece (available in full color, semi-transparent, or watermark)
  • Using a university-branded “lower-third graphic,” which allows video editors to easily add names and titles for identification of on-camera individuals where needed.

Video footage

University Communications maintains a limited selection of video footage of campus locations and events that may be used by UW–Madison units for non-commercial video pieces related to the university. For assistance in accessing this footage or to discuss video projects in general, please contact us.
