Minimum web standards

Any website that falls within the UW–Madison brand hierarchy must meet certain minimum style standards by including:

  • The words "University of Wisconsin–Madison" located in the top banner area
  • The UW–Madison logo in the footer area
  • A link to the UW–Madison home page
  • A link to the school, college, or division in which a unit resides, if applicable
  • The following standard footer information:
    • Copyright statement: © [current year] The Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System
    • The e-mail address of the person responsible for maintaining the page and responding to user feedback: Feedback, questions or accessibility issues: webmaster@yourwebsite.wisc.edu.
    • The date the page was last updated: Last updated: January 6, 2011 — unless it is clear from the content on the page itself that the page is current
